Natasha--Loki--gazed up at Barton for a silent moment analyzing the archer's reaction. If anything the archer was more tense, but it was beyond that that the god was recording in his mind's eye, the little things, the shiver of repulsion, the dilation of his pupils, the tight grip on the god's shoulders that was almost painful. She leaned forward as if to kiss him on the cheek and hesitated, watching his reaction carefully... then shifted out of the Widow's form. He slipped back into his own skin with a suppressed sigh.

"As you say, Barton," the god intoned indifferently. He would have gone through more forms had he known the archer's preference more but it seemed a waste of time since he did not.

He leaned into the archer once more as he removed the tight grip from his shoulders gently, rubbing the mortal's hands lightly between his own. He waited until Barton began to relax somewhat before placing the archer's hands lightly on his (Loki's) hips and then ran his hands up Barton's arms. In any other situation it might have been a kind gesture, rubbing the taunt muscles of the archer's arms soothingly, but Loki had no delusions that it would work entirely. Still, he kept at it for the moment.
